At a restaurant I saw this guy trying to be hip wearing a Green Bay Packers t-shirt with a suitcoat over it. And then walking down the street I saw a guy with a UW sweatshirt with a big Bucky Badger on it. And just yesterday there was a girl in the department store with a trendy shirt that said "Property of Milwaukee College." I wonder if she's ever haunted by the fact that she's the property of a non-existent entity.
Does the headline (and sub-head) mean that the only way Mongolians should love Wisconsin is unknowingly?
ReplyDeleteChickens rule!!!! (the roost).
I think what the author is implying is that Mongolians, along with the rest of humanity, should and do love Wisconsin both unknowingly as well as knowingly. This approach ,however, does leave room for the question as to whether love or the lack thereof, exists in the "who gives a shit about Wiconsin anyway ?" dimension. I'll have mine over easy please with wheat toast and bacon.
ReplyDeleteIf bacon is as staple in one's diet, he must by extrapolation, love Wisconsin.
ReplyDeleteDescartes argued that all humanity is endowed with an innate knowledge of Wisconsin. So though they may not consciously know of its existence, unconsciously they can still love and honor it. I pity you pour souls who have deliberately turned away from Wisconsin.
ReplyDeletei think that's plato. descartes argued that he thinks, therefore he thinks milwaukee is awesome. along with red dog. -maruca.
ReplyDeleteThinking is seperate from Being. Thinking is manifested in form. Being is absence of form.
ReplyDeleteAll in all I think I'd rather Be at the end of Doe Ln gazing out at Long Lake on a mid summer morn after enjoying breakfast with loved ones at the Village Cafe. Heaven is all around us.
